Asseco system to become the “heart” of a Silesian hospital

The Railways Hospital in Wilkowice-Bystra has chosen Asseco Medical Management Solutions. The system will be implemented as part of computerization of this medical facility which is aimed at improving the quality of services provided for patients, among others, through the use of electronic medical records. The project gross value exceeds PLN 1.5 million.

The AMMS system will provide support for the hospital’s medical departments (HIS). The project is intended to upgrade the quality of medical services and management at the Railways Hospital in Wilkowice-Bystra. Once the implementation is completed, the hospital will be able to use 22 applications that will support the daily work of its personnel, among others, at the admissions office, consultation rooms, laboratories, and hospital pharmacy. The new software will allow for more efficient organization of treatment processes by providing doctors will all the necessary information on the patient’s hospitalization, test results and medical parameters. Software mechanisms featured by AMMS, such as asymmetric cryptography, will ensure highly reliable and secure flow of information.

“AMMS is a state-of-the-art managerial tool that enables efficient collection and distribution of information as well as creation of electronic medical records,” said Krzysztof de Lorm, Commercial Director at the Healthcare Systems Division of Asseco Poland S.A. “Quick access to information, intuitive and highly comfortable operation of this modern IT system have been appreciated by more than 170 hospitals already,” he added.

The implementation of AMMS system has been assigned to Asseco’s partner, namely Info-Lider, which is also going to install new computer and network hardware.

AMMS is a comprehensive IT solution dedicated to large and medium-sized hospitals, polyclinics, medical centers, outpatient clinics and emergency departments. AMMS features a number of functionalities for the identification of patients, including registration of referrals with the help two-dimensional barcodes, as well as retrieval of patient data from identity documents. It also enables printing and reading of doctor referrals in the encoded form. Transmission of such documents in electronic format between different medical centers reduces the time of patient registration and admission, while eliminating errors that might occur due to incorrect reading of handwriting.
