Asseco software ready to support e-Prescriptions
Since mid-February this year, the e-Prescriptions pilot project has been coordinated by the Ministry of Health. In line with the current act, the e-Prescriptions are to be used by the general public from January 1, 2020. This results in the necessity to adapt the software of medical units and pharmacies to the possibility of displaying and dispensing the e-Prescriptions. Asseco Medical Management Solutions (AMMS) has successfully passed the integration tests with the P1 System and thus Asseco Poland has joined the list of suppliers of systems for doctor offices that are ready for the support of e-Prescriptions.
In order to obtain a positive opinion, Asseco had to pass a number of scenarios in a dedicated test environment, which was made available by CSIOZ during the "Projectathon e-Recepty" workshop. The event was held on March 19-20, 2018. During the meeting, the correctness of communication between the P1 platform and service providers in all planned transactions was checked, as well as compliance of e-prescription documents and their implementation with the IHE Profiles: PRE and DIS, and HL7 CDA implemented in P1.
AMMS is ready to connect with the central prescription recording system in the P1 platform. It is to improve patient service, facilitate access to medical data and speed up the process of purchasing medicines, said Krzysztof Groyecki, Vice President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland.
The introduction of electronic prescriptions is intended, among other things, to eliminate the problem resulting from incorrect handwriting, to increase patient safety by reducing the possibility of dispensing wrong medicines, or to allow access to the history of prescriptions, so that the treatment process can be better coordinated.
